LOVING THE 70s VIBE!

Since we've gone down to one wage, I've become a bit of a bargain hunter! Lately, I've gone all 70s! The table was only £3 from a car boot sale...and the cups and saucers (set of 12) - only £1.90 for the whole set!! God love charity shops :-)
I've been getting out my vintage 70s material to make some cute little purses too!

As you can see, there are large floral prints everywhere at our house at the minute!

TRIP TO LIVING COASTS

We went to Torquay's Living coasts this morning and it rocked! We saw lots of different types of animals, including penguins, seals and stingrays. Jess was fascinated by the seals who were being fed fish for their lunch! The animals were obviously really well looked after and the admission prices were reasonable! If you get a chance to go, do so! xx

TRIP TO THE PETTING FARM!

We went on a trip to Totnes Rare Breeds Petting Farm yesterday! You can get there via steam train, and it takes you to this really quaint area of Totnes. Unfortunately Jess was having a bad day and screamed her way round, but I enjoyed it!! I feed lots of greedy goats, stroked some pigs and feed some really old tortoises :-) When Jess can walk, I'll take her again, but right now she's just frustrated that I have to carry her (more for fear out of what she'd do to the animals rather than the other way round!)

Speaking of walking...alas Jess isn't quite there yet but she loves using her wooden walker so hopefully she'll get there soon!

Eating Shells!

I took my daughter to the beach this morning, where she took real delight in all the different shells she saw (try saying that fast!). After a paddle, she collected a few and we went back home….sounds lovely huh? The only problem is, she is constantly trying to eat them!!

Any ideas how I can turn these into a safe play thing?

Had a truly fantastic time at the beach this weekend! We took Jessie out in our kayak and she loved it! She is still trying her hardest to eat sand and shells, but other than that is quite the beach babe!!

Evening all! Last week I posted that I was closing my Folksy shop down due to lack of sales, and that everything had been reduced to £2!

Since then, my shop has seen quite a few more visitors, so I have decided to keep my shop, but everything will continue to be only £2!! I realise I'm never gonna make a fortune like this, but I like to craft and this way at least I can sell a few more items :-)

The weather has been nothing short of blooming marvellous recently! Tom and I put Jess in her first wetsuit and went down for a day at the beach :-) Tom can't wait to buy her a lifejacket so we can take her out in our kayak! She does seem like the adventurous type!

JESS' FIRST BIRTHDAY

Hoorah! Jess had her first birthday party last Saturday. The theme was a 'In the night garden' garden party :-) She received lots of presents, and we all had a fantastic day! She even got her very own Igglepiggle to kiss!!

Ok, I try not to do this very often but I just couldn't help myself this time. It was Jessie's (my baby girl) grandad's birthday the other day, so I put her in her party dress! She looks so super cute I just had to share with everyone!!

EASTER IS COMING...

My daffodils are starting to bloom, and the sun is out more often...which must mean easter is on its way! Join in the sunshine with this bright yellow felt brooch! My favourite thing about this brooch is the button in the centre. I found it hiding in one of those habberdashery stores which you stumble on one day and wonder how you never noticed it before! I just love the pattern - so unusual!

And whilst I was at it...I made a red one too! Brightens up any outfit! Both available from my shop now :-)

PERSONALISED NAME DOOR HANGINGS

I got the crafting buzz yesterday after I made my 'Love' door hanging, and got to thinking how cute it would look to have personalised names to hang on the door outside a child's room! I quickly got to work on this 'Jake' sign, but I am happy to do any name for you lovelies out there :-)

GIVE YOUR DOOR KNOB SOME PIZAZZ!

I've been busy decorating the door knobs in our house with these felt lovelies! I'm going to start making a personalised name door hanging for my daughter, and will soon have some available on my shop. This 'Love' door hanging is only £5.00!

WEDNESDAY I'M IN LOVE?

There must be something in the air...as I can't get enough of making these cute little heart brooches. Do hearts always have to be pink? I think not! Hence these fuchsia and blue hearts :-) Hope you love them as much as me!

Perhaps I'm just beaming still from my FIRST mother's day! My partner tried his hardest all Saturday to get our 10 month old daughter to say 'mummy' into one of those 'record you own msg' cards - instead he had to say it + Jess thought she'd just squeal into the card instead! Even though she sounded like a cat being strangled, it was still very cute!!

Hey there...needed a huge virtual hug this morning (we all do from time to time!), and got it from the guys at folksy! If you ever need advice about your shop or the crafty exploits you get up to, someone will be there to talk :-) After a quick natter, I got some great advice about my shop, including changing my shop banner :-) So here it is! Cheers guys, I feel ready to get myself geared up for some more sewing...now where did I leave my sewing box?...

Why not treat the one you love (or treat yourself!) with this delightful pink heart brooch. Handmade out of pink and black felt it would put a smile on anyone's face (especially because it is very cheap to buy!!) Valentine's Day might have been and gone, but who needs an excuse to show their love?
